Impact and Influence - Does Christian Youth Work make a difference?

Hi Stewart, I Think a Journal is an interesting Idea. I guess there would need to be some discussion around what were its aims. and what kind of content it was thinking those involved in Youth Ministry were looking for. I think you raise an impo...

I think a journal would be good, the medium is the trick though. I tend to think that if it was printed it would be read more but it would be expensive to produce. Online is easier and cheaper but you have to make a point of going to the website a...

I would love to see a Scottish youth ministry journal. There are some good journals out there, but none I know that come from the Scottish context. I think it's important to have a contextual journal, there is so much happening in Scotland, but so...

If I wanted to message the whole group, would that be through 'manage' then 'broadcast message'?

Not getting to see a whole lot of it really! But loving having joined a local medical practice now! And that's an important part of a community to know about ;) Also loving the buses ;) Not a huge amount else to report... Although I do really think the sun shines more here than anywhere else I've lived in Glasgow! Not sure this was the answer you were looking for, hope to have a more youthwork focused one in future, but if I'd waited any longer to reply, it would just have been impolite!

Hi Stuart, I'm good thanks. Yes we will certainly tell you about things going on and we're also wondering if you ming us advertising this website in our monthly e-bulletin.
Future events: The youth office in co-operation with Christian Aid will host Carol Idol on Sun 7th starting from 7pm. The idea is for groups to perform a song can be a christmas carol or any other and will then be judged by the audience. In the programme included are a craft corner and a resources table for folk. We will also promote Chrisian Aid's present aid and some morte thoughts and poems about the madness that is Christmas.
I do I go about telling this others on the network?

Cheers, hope you're well,

Petra

Stuart Mackenzie: Look at the size of that boy's heed.
Tony Giardino: Shhh!
Stuart Mackenzie: I'm not kidding, it's like an orange on a toothpick.
Tony Giardino: Shhh, you're going to give the boy a complex.
Stuart Mackenzie: Well, that's a huge noggin. That's a virtual planetoid.
Tony Giardino: Shh!
Stuart Mackenzie: Has it's own weather system.
Tony Giardino: Sh, sh, shh.
Stuart Mackenzie: HEAD! MOVE!

it has it's own weather system. I really must copy that to my laptop to watch more often

Is there a need for an online Youth Ministry Journal in Scotland? (or is there one I don't know about?).

Youth Ministry seems to suffer from a lack of thinking out loud. This is getting better but we still seem pretty poor at writing about our profession in a professional or academic way. Is this harsh? Unfair? Or is there a need to encourage people to research, study and write?
